The Next Savior?

America has elected its 44th president. People were very emotional last night as the results came in. The joy and the tears spoke about the very high expectations people have for President Obama. People are tired and want to see complete change. They hope Obama will be their savior, their messiah; the anointed one.

People are always looking for a savior. One thing we all agree on is that our world is in turmoil and we need a way out. In this case Barack Obama is the way out to many people.

I think it is very curious how many hopes have been placed on his shoulders. He really is a superstar in popularity and savior in expectations (in many ways so, because he hasn’t had the chance to fail yet). I am afraid the hopes people have for Obama are quite un-realistic. After all he is not the savior, only God has the ability for that position.

God gives authority to people and it is now our responsibility to pray for President Obama and see what God will do and allow to happen through his presidency.  America has definitely taken a giant step towards the liberal policies of Europe.
